1. Compost Bed size

Picture
Compost Bed must 35 cm Height, it means to keep heat from lower temperature outside of growing house. If you build lower than that size, i'm sure that house temperature will decrease as the outside temperature goes down.
Some farmers use a different technique, thick compost usually made in rainy season and less thicker in summer season. I think the temperature at night lower than day time, that's why i use this technique wich retain the growing house temperature even in the night time. I 've prove it for several years in farming Jamur merang.

2. No Watering During growing periode

Watering can be used if compost in dry condition, it caused by high temperature and the lenght of pasteurization step, less wet for paddy straw or others compost substrates in composting step, or never open the window of growing house for air exchange.
Lots of watering in growing periode could erase the nutrition that stay already on the compost substrate and will reduce mushroom food. There is no nutrition on the compost bed.
Mushroom will grow slow and small, we always find the mushroom decayed and fail to harvest.

3. Maintain the temperature

Best temperature for paddy straw to grow is about 30-32 C. If the temperature below or higher from that number, the mushrom and the micellium cannot grow well.
Lower temperature has black effect to the top of mushroom like light does.
